APOEL vs Tottenham

APOEL vs Tottenham Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Tottenham vs burnley predictions, betting tips and match preview

APOEL’s Champions League group stage campaign got underway in expected fashion as they lost 3-0 away to current holders Real Madrid earlier this month, and considering the group they have been drawn in, you wouldn’t be surprised to see them finish with no points whatsoever.
Apart from Real Madrid, they also have the likes of Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund to contend with, and with all of those three vying for the qualification spots, it’s unlikely that any of them will go easy on the Cypriots.
APOEL’s overall form isn’t overly promising either. They have won just one of their last six outings and lost three times, and that comes in a Cyprus First Division that they usually have the better of.
Tottenham have had an up and down start to the season, but in the Champions League it’s just been up. They managed a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in their group stage opener, which was marred only by the late sending off of Jan Vertonghen. In all honesty the scoreline was rather flattering for them, but they will be pleased to have got the Wembley monkey off their back and picked up three points in possibly the most important match of the groups.
Overall this season Spurs have won five, drawn two, and lost one, but it’s been away from home where they’ve excelled. They have won all three of their trips away and kept a clean sheet in two of them, and coming up against an APOEL side who have failed to score in four of their last five in all competitions, you wouldn’t put another clean sheet beyond the visitors.
Harry Kane will be key at the other end of the pitch though. Spurs’ star striker had a typically poor August, but in September he’s managed six goals in four appearances, scoring two against West Ham, Everton, and Dortmund and only failing in their goalless draw with Swansea. Backing him to find the net again looks the best choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
We’re not expecting a catalogue of goals though. Eight of APOEL’s last nine in the Champions League have seen fewer than three goals, and with them failing to score so often recently odds of 5/4 for Under 2,5 Goals looks good value. We’re also going for a Tottenham Win to Nil bet at 10/11, which goes nicely with a 2-0 correct score predictions at 5/1.
